*AP VOICE TODAY | Ramachandrapuram* *July 18:* Modern Junior College students excelled in the prestigious `Shining Stars - 2026` awards presented by the State Government. Across the combined East Godavari District, 23 students from private colleges were selected for this award. Out of them, 5 awards were bagged by Modern Junior College students, which is a remarkable achievement. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Lion G.V. Rao, Chairman of Modern Educational Institutions said, "It is a matter of great pride that five of these prestigious government awards have been won by our students K. Geetha Sri, A.R.S.V. Prasanna, M. Kameswari, T. Bhuvaneswari, and G. Vijay Kumar." He further stated that it is commendable that our students have received a cash award of Rs. 1 lakh through these awards. Later, Intermediate Principal C.H. Rajesh said that these awards are proof of Modern students' excellence not only in competitive exams but also in academic results. The Chairman G.V. Rao, Principal C.H. Rajesh, Vice Principal P.S. Prakash, Academic Advisor C.H. Srinivas, and the staff of Modern Junior College congratulated the students who were selected for the award.

As part of the `Swachh Andhra - Swarna Andhra` program on Saturday, weeds on both sides of canals and roads in various parts of the town were removed and cleaned. Speaking on the occasion, he said that only by keeping the surroundings clean can we achieve complete health. He suggested that everyone should not throw garbage from their homes into drains and should shift it to designated dumping yards. In other areas, garbage was removed from drains, bleaching powder was applied, and mosquito prevention medicines were sprayed. Panchayat EO Gangadhar, Sanitary Inspector and other staff participated in this program.
