Major Education Push in Anakapalle: Rs 9 Cr for 91 Schools

Solar Fencing, New Buildings & Key Reforms Announced for KGBVs by Sriramulu

Anakapalle: K. Sriramulu, Additional Project Coordinator of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, stated that special measures are being taken for the development of Gurukul and Kasturba schools in the district.

He said there are 20 Kasturba schools in the district with more than 5,600 students studying in them. On Monday evening, he made a surprise inspection of the KGBV in Marri Palem village of Natavaram mandal. He interacted with students and inquired about their problems. He also inspected permanent assets, uniforms, and food quality.

He said there are 18 teaching posts vacant in the district and they will be filled soon. As part of preventing problems with monkeys, a solar fence was set up at the KGBV in Marri Palem of Natavaram mandal with Rs 3 lakh on the initiative of the Collector. This is the first such initiative in the district. He revealed that plans have been prepared to set up solar fences in all Kasturba schools across the district. He added that solar lights and solar fans will be installed in all KGBVs in the district in the coming days.

He said solar plants have already been installed in many schools to boil hot water for students. He stated that medical checkups for students as per norms and daily exercise are mandatory. He directed officials to identify students with anemia and give them special attention.

He clarified that only officials permitted by the Collector should enter KGBVs, and no outside food should be brought inside. Only food prepared in the KGBV should be served. The concerned principals will be held fully responsible for this.

He said funds are available to repair toilets and other damaged infrastructure in KGBVs on a war footing. He added that additional buildings will be constructed in KGBVs to address accommodation problems.

He said the construction of an additional building at a cost of Rs 2.10 crore in Natavaram mandal has been completed, and arrangements are being made for Speaker Ayyannapatrudu to inaugurate it soon.

He said Rs 9 crore has been sanctioned for 91 schools in the district and the works will be completed soon. He said construction works sanctioned earlier are at various stages.
